Dishwasher Repair Dollard-des-Ormeaux

Plates gritty after a full cycle, cloudy water left in the tub, or a drip running along the door. A technician comes to your kitchen in DDO, finds whether it's a filter, a pump or a seal, and gets the next load coming out clean.

Common Dishwasher Problems

Choose the symptom that matches your kitchen. Each one explains the usual cause, what you can do meanwhile, and the parts we test first.

Problem 01

Cloudy Water In The Tub

The door opens on a shallow pool of cloudy water. A packed filter, a clogged air gap beside the faucet, or a pump stopped by broken glass account for nearly all of these. Filter and air gap come first, the pump test second.

While You Wait

Bail out the water with a mug and towels before the visit. A newly installed garbage disposal with its knockout plug still in place is a classic culprit.

Usual Suspects

Problem 02

Food Left On Plates And Glasses

Dinner plates arrive with grit on them and tumblers look misty. Spray arm nozzles plugged with scale, a wash pump that's lost pressure, or water that never gets hot enough are the regular causes. If loading is part of it, we'll point that out kindly.

While You Wait

Scrape, don't pre-rinse; modern detergent works best with a little grime to grab. Keep tall pans clear of the top arm.

Problem 03

Water Seeping From The Door

Water creeps out under the door and spreads across the tile. A gasket that's hardened, a cracked arm spraying sideways, or a loose clamp underneath can each be the source. We trace the drip to its origin before ordering seals.

While You Wait

Note where the water shows: the door corner, one side, or under the kickplate. That spot tells us where to look first.

Problem 04

Dishes Still Wet At The End

Spotless but soaked: cups hold puddles and plastics drip. An element that has burned through, a drying vent stuck shut, or a rinse aid cup that's run dry are the usual explanations.

While You Wait

Refill rinse aid and select heated dry where available; expect plastics to stay a little damp regardless.

Problem 05

Panel Lights, Nothing Happens

The panel lights and then nothing. A small switch in the latch confirms closure to the controller; when it fails, the cycle never begins. After that we look at the thermal fuse and the main board.

While You Wait

Switch its circuit off at the panel, wait five minutes, then restore power. If it starts afterwards, the control had simply locked up.

Problem 06

Harsh Grinding Mid-Cycle

A crunchy grinding sound kicks in during the wash. A fruit pit, a shard of glass, or a twist tie has sneaked past the screen and lodged in the chopper; removing it promptly usually spares the pump.

While You Wait

Stop the program and inspect the screen for glass or stones; running on can chip the impeller.

Dishwasher Error Codes

Each one is tagged with the brand that uses it, since the same letters can mean different things on different makes.

OE

LG

Water isn't draining within the expected time; check the filter and drain hose.

FE

LG

Too much water has entered, often a sticking inlet valve.

LC

Samsung

Leak detected in the base; the safety float has triggered.

4C

Samsung

Water supply problem, commonly a closed valve or low pressure.

E25

Bosch

The drain pump cover or impeller is blocked by debris.

tE

LG

The temperature sensor isn't reading correctly.

Each manufacturer uses its own codes, and meanings can shift between model years. If a code returns after a five-minute unplug, book a technician and we'll diagnose it properly.

Dishwasher Repair Reviews

Feedback from DDO households after their dishwasher repair.

A cloudy pool sat in the tub after every run. A sliver of a broken tumbler was lodged in the pump. Cleared, tested, and it empties completely now.

Solange T.Westpark

Glasses came out foggy. Scale had plugged the spray nozzles. Cleaned, and everything shines.

Linus G.Sunnybrooke

Slow drip under the door. The gasket had to be ordered, so a return visit, but it's dry now.

Amandine R.St-Jean

Cups always came out holding water. The heating element had died. New one fitted, dishes dry now.

Caspian H.Roxboro

Lights on, cycle never started. Faulty latch switch. One visit.

Odile M.Kirkland

Crunching noise mid-wash. An olive pit in the chopper. Removed, pump was undamaged.

Felix N.Pointe-Claire

Dishwasher Checks Before You Call

Run through these six before booking; several dishwasher visits end right here.

1

Is the filter clean?

The cylinder in the tub floor twists out; rinse it under hot water.

2

Is the air gap clear?

That little chrome cap beside the faucet lifts off; clean out the gunk below it.

3

Does the water run hot?

Let the kitchen tap run until it's hot before pressing start.

4

Do the spray arms spin?

Turn each arm with a finger; each should whirl freely with no snag.

5

Is there rinse aid?

A dry reservoir is one of the most common causes of wet, spotty dishes.

6

Is the door latched?

Press the door shut until you hear the latch click.

Still not clean or dry? Book a visit and we'll take it from there.
